Columbia Shipmanagement adopts ShipServ e-commerce

Cyprus-based ship manager plans to support the operational purchasing of 150 ships with ShipServ.

08.17.2009 – LONDON, UK - ShipServ, the leading maritime e-marketplace, today announced that it signed an agreement with Columbia Shipmanagement (CSM), a leading force in ship management.

Under the terms of the agreement CSM will integrate its purchasing systems with ShipServ TradeNet, the e-commerce trading platform for operational supplies. With TradeNet in place requisitions and orders will flow seamlessly to the CSM supply base, reducing administrative overheads, shortening order cycle times and providing CSM with better intelligence on supplier performance.

“Columbia continues to be focused on finding ways in which it can lower operating costs while continuing to provide quality services to clients worldwide,” said Andreas Hadjipetrou, Managing Director, CSM Deutschland GmbH, “It was clear to us ShipServ can help us in this goal, by optimizing our purchasing processes and ultimately saving us money.”

The selection of TradeNet is part of the installation of a state-of-the-art purchasing infrastructure at CSM, which also includes Microsoft Dynamics AX (formerly Axapta) software.

The signing of CSM follows on from the major contracts recently won by ShipServ at Wilhelmsen Ship Management, Nautisk Forlag and Alfa Laval.
