AIMIS Clinical Advisory Board member and leader of the Women’s Surgical Leadership Initiative, Dr. Lori Warren shares her passion for educating women on their surgical options

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – When it comes to women’s health, few doctors are as outspoken on the issue of invasive surgery as Dr. Lori Warren. She is ardently devoted to reducing the excessive number of unnecessary abdominal hysterectomies performed in the United States.

Born in Ithaca, NY, Dr. Warren received both her Bachelors degree and Medical degree at the University of Kentucky, and completed her residency training at Tufts University in Boston, Mass. Dr. Warren is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and has worked nationally and internationally as an advanced gynecologic laparoscopic surgeon to train other surgeons in laparoscopic techniques.

“Women should be informed and understand all their options when it comes to their bodies and health,” Dr. Warren said. “Working with AIMIS and the Women’s Surgical Leadership Initiative, we will motivate surgeons and insurance companies to make minimally invasive hysterectomies the standard of care, resulting in the positive advancement of women’s health care across the nation and, eventually, the world.”
