DALLAS—Alliance Data, a Plano, Texas-based provider of loyalty and marketing solutions, was named the sixth best place to work in the D/FW Metroplex among midsize companies in The Dallas Morning News "Top Workplaces 2011," which ranks the top 100 organizations to work for in the area, based on anonymous survey results from current employees of each company. The ‘midsize’ category included companies and organizations with 150 to 499 employees.

The competition was launched by The Dallas Morning News, in conjunction with Workplace Dynamics, to help local organizations with a high level of employee satisfaction recognize their accomplishments, and to share what satisfied employees believe their companies are doing correctly so that aspiring organizations might find ways to improve their workplaces.

"Being included among the best of the best employers in the Dallas area is a testament to the collaborative, inclusive culture we work to foster at Alliance Data," said Ed Heffernan, president and CEO.  "The fact that this ranking is based solely on employee feedback—as opposed to anything we could have written or said about ourselves—makes us especially proud. Our employees are hard-working, creative and smart. They help  us stay ahead of the game, and they’re the best assets we have."

To make the list, companies had to excel in several core areas per employee feedback, such as company direction, management strength, pay and benefits, and career direction, among others.

"In my view, the excellent people we have in upper management and the good direction we get from the top has helped drive the company to where we are today," said Brigette Vinton, director of corporate finance, who has been with the company for 18 years. "It’s a strong, stable company with loyal employees and a CEO who empowers his people. This is the only company I have ever worked for—and there’s a reason for that."

"One of the most important things Alliance Data has given me is the opportunity to give back to our community," added Rodney Swift, senior manager of facilities. "Working here has taught me to balance work with my personal life and still take time to give back. It feels good to work for a company that encourages me to help make someone's life a little easier, whether it's a kid at ChildCareGroup or a hungry family going to the Plano Food Pantry."
