"Our four LaunchAbility clients are among our most hardworking employees. Hiring people with special needs isn’t just the right thing to do, it’s also good business," said Ed Heffernan, president and CEO of Alliance Data. "Our employees have made it clear that the giving-back part of our culture means a lot to them, and they’re eager to get out there and make a difference in communities across the country. Our Dallas-based associates are very proud of our 10-year partnership with LaunchAbility; their support of the agency grows stronger each year."

"With Alliance Data's help and support on so many levels, we are able to improve even more lives and help more people live independently, year after year. For a corporate partner to not only support us financially, but also make a commitment to employ our dedicated clients and volunteer to help us when we need it demonstrates they and their employees more than just want to support us—they deep-down believe in our mission."

Where: At the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center, in Dallas

Why: A Special Evening hosted by Alliance Data is in its 10th consecutive year benefiting LaunchAbility. The annual concert series, designed to raise awareness about the agency, is LaunchAbility's biggest annual fundraiser—making it possible for LaunchAbility to continue its 47-year mission to build independence for children and adults with developmental disabilities. Thought-provoking fact: Each person with special needs—such as LaunchAbility clients—placed in a full-time job saves taxpayers more than $40,000 per year in reduced need for social services.

About the concert: Over the past decade, A Special Evening has raised more than $1.5 million and allowed LaunchAbility to continually expand its award-winning programs to help even more special-needs children and adults. Proceeds from A Special Evening directly benefit two LaunchAbility initiatives: Supported Employment Services (SES), which helps capable people with cognitive disabilities (such as Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism, and others) train for, find, and keep good jobs; and the Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) program pays for specialists to provide a greater chance for success in school to babies and toddlers with developmental disabilities and delays.
