Atlanta will welcome back T.D. Jakes Ministries’ “Woman, Thou Art Loosed” conference to Philips Arena, October 4 – 6, 2012. The annual event is expected to draw approximately 19,000 women from all backgrounds and cultures, who will gather to learn to become stronger leaders in their families, churches, communities and businesses.
“T.D. Jakes Ministries has been a valued client of ACVB since the first ‘Woman, Thou Art Loosed’ conference and we look forward to welcoming them back to Atlanta,” said William Pate, president and CEO of Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau. “Atlanta’s strong base of religious institutions, combined with versatile meeting space downtown makes the city a perfect venue for meetings large and small.”
In 2011, religious meetings accounted for roughly 6 percent of total conventions for the year, drawing more than 100,000 attendees to the city. Philips Arena hosted several of these religious events, including Women of Faith’s Imagine Conference which drew 17,000 attendees. Passion Conference also completely filled the 21,000-seat arena for Passion Network 2011.
The city last hosted “Woman, Thou Art Loosed” in 2006 as part of T.D. Jakes MegaFest, a four-day, three-night festival featuring three conferences that promoted family, fellowship and fun. Prior to the development of MegaFest, Atlanta played host to several of T.D. Jakes segmented conferences for men, women or children. Success of these previous shows in Atlanta led to a long-term relationship between the city and the T.D. Jakes organization, keeping the doors open for a return.
Established in 1913, Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau is a private, nonprofit organization created to favorably impact the Atlanta economy through conventions and tourism.
