POLARTEC

Polartec has teamed up with one of its primary yarn providers, Unifi, Inc., in a first of its kind recycling program, the REPREVE® Textile Takeback Program. About 8 to 15 percent of all fabric produced, or millions of pounds of textile manufacturing scraps, ends up in landfills every year. The REPREVE® Textile Takeback Program recycles various polyester based Polartec fabrics; including supply chain waste and post-consumer fabrics that have reached the end of their life, back into Polartec's exclusive REPREVE® 100 branded yarn. This new yarn will now include a blend of reycled bottles and recycled fabrics and will be used to produce new, first-quality performance Polartec fabrics for the outdoor apparel market.
