KANE‘OHE BAY-- Get a fresh start on New Year’s resolutions at the Farmers Market by ‘Nalo Farms at Windward Mall. The indoor farmers market, held every Wednesday from 2:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., opens doors to a whole range of resolutions for 2012. Whether it’s to be healthier, lose weight, spend quality time with family or try something new; this market can be the catalyst to a yearlong adventure in healthy and sustainable living.

Windward Mall’s farmers market is possible through a partnership with ‘Nalo Farms and is conveniently located at the upper and lower levels of the Macy’s wing. With over 50 vendors (and still growing) there is something for even the most adventurous palates.

“Our large selection of vendors makes it possible to provide customers with a great variety of locally produced treats. From naturally made nut butters, beef chips, ethnic foods and exotic produce like dragon fruit, there are always new products to enjoy,” said Alex Kirley, marketing manager of Windward Mall.  “The market is a great ally for those who resolve to be healthier. It is accessible, reasonably priced and shoppers can sample the food before they commit to buying it so it’s easy to maintain New Year’s resolutions.”

Eating healthier doesn’t have to be synonymous with flavorless foods. In fact, vendors from the market take great pride in providing only the freshest harvest from the farm to your table. Explore Windward Mall’s extensive array of produce and tropically inspired artisan products for nutritious food without sacrificing taste.

“Our farmers market is agriculture in our community.  The producers are the stars, with locally grown poi, and ogo.  Eating healthy, and eating local can happen with the help of the farmers.  From breakfast with organic eggs, granola, peanut butter and honey through dinner with fish, vegetables from long bean and bok choy to Manoa lettuce and peppers, we can help,” says Dean Okimoto, president of ‘Nalo Farms. “The producers are excited to share how they prepare their eggs and vegetables with recipes and cooking tips.”

The Farmers Market by ‘Nalo Farms at Windward Mall is a great opportunity to be inspired for a healthier year filled with eating locally grown food.  The market producers are available from 2:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. every Wednesday with ideas and new products to keep your New Year’s resolutions ever green.
