Legends in Concert Waikiki celebrated the grand opening of “Rock-A-Hula,” Oahu’s only live tribute show, with a private gala event at the newly renovated Royal Hawaiian Theater. The dazzling live concert experience features a unique tribute to Elvis Presley, hula and an all-star cast of the world’s most talented tribute artists, including Michael Jackson, Elton John and Lady Gaga among others.
Audiences enjoy a concert-quality experience from yesteryear to today, inclusive of spot-on live performances that include a live band, dancers, elaborate stage sets, and spectacular sound and lighting. In all, the world-renowned musical production features a rotating cast of 80 different superstar personas.
“We are so excited to introduce this show to Waikiki and pay tribute to these artists, many of whom have special ties to Hawaii,” says Brian Brigner, COO for Legends in Concert. “This is our lucky seventh location and we’re making it truly distinctive by incorporating Hawaii’s unique beauty, history and culture, which is a first for our show.”
During its 28-year history, Legends in Concert has toured cities all over the globe with notable stops on Broadway and in numerous countries, including Japan, China, Australia and Russia. In launching the iconic show to Waikiki, On Stage Entertainment of Las Vegas – owner and operator of Legends in Concert – has partnered with Stars of Paradise Tours & Attractions, owner and operator of the award-winning Star of Honolulu and Royal Star Hawaii Motorcoach Tours & Destination Services.
Legends in Concert Waikiki offers a number of cocktail, luau and dinner packages ranging from $50 for cocktail and show to $180 for Green Room VIP treatment. The Green Room experience features an exclusive reception, backstage tour and photo with the show’s stars, followed by a stage-side private table gourmet Hawaiian dinner and “Rock-A-Hula” show, plus after-show cocktail in the beautiful VIP Lounge.
Located on the fourth floor of the Royal Hawaiian Center, the $20-million Royal Hawaiian Theater features a dramatic 42-foot ceiling and state-of-the-art lighting, sound and multi-media technology. Other spaces include the open-air Treetop Lanai, multiple bars and lounges and the Legends Room, which offers a look at authentic memorabilia on loan from the families and estates of the featured stars.
“Rock-A-Hula” is open year-round with show performances six nights a week (dark on Mondays). Shows start at 8:15 p.m. with cocktails and dining options available before and after the shows.
