“We are happy to recognize Boloco for their investment in bicycling as a vehicle for improved employee health, social responsibility and economic growth,” said League president, Andy Clarke. “Some of the most successful companies in the world are showing that investing in bicycling is not only good for health and sustainability but also the bottom line.”
Businesses that strive to become bicycle friendly do more than improve the workplace. They contribute to the community and improve their overall earnings. Boloco has participated in a number of cycling events in 2011, such as the Prouty in New Hampshire, where Team Boloco raised over $17,200 for the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Norris Cotton Cancer Center, and Boston’s Hub on Wheels, where employees and burrito fans rode the race together and raised funds for Technology Goes Home. Boloco advocates bicycling to employees and guests as an easy option for transportation, and provides donated burritos to bike-friendly community events year-round.
“We are proud of the roadmap that the Bicycle Friendly Business program provides and how Boloco used it to transform into a Bronze BFB,” said Bill Nesper, Director of the League’s Bicycle Friendly America program.
Boloco and our accompanying Fall 2011 BFBs have taken advantage of the free tools and technical assistance that the League offers. The League guides companies through many simple, effective and creative ways to get businesses and their employees biking and encouraging bicycling in the workplace. Boloco employees are always eager to ride for “Team Boloco” and enjoy a fun and healthy work culture, as the company places a high emphasis on keeping active.
