Saskatoon – Dennis Gruending, a Saskatchewan-born writer and former Member of Parliament, will hold a Saskatoon launch on Monday, November 21 for his new book Pulpit and Politics: Competing Religious Ideologies in Canadian Public Life.
The event begins at 7:30 p.m. in the lounge at St. Andrew’s College, 1121 College Drive, on the University of Saskatchewan Campus. Hon. Lorne Calvert, the Principal of St. Andrew’s, will make introductory remarks. Professor Nettie Wiebe will interview Dennis about the book and there will be time set aside for questions and comments.
The book, released by Kingsley Publishing of Calgary in October 2011, examines the competition between religious progressives and conservatives for power and influence in Canadian politics.
Dennis will be available for media interviews at any time on Monday, November 21.
