A few years ago, Hal and Dana Couillard's younger brother died of a heart attack at the age of 51. As they mourned his loss, they began to ask themselves and each other questions about meaning in their lives - what would be their peak experiences and how would they construct their legacies? As they answered the questions for themselves, they continued on to discuss how to help their friends and clients go through a similar process. Out of that discussion grew the idea for this book.
Lifeworth – Fulfillment Beyond Networth is a collection of brief stories of those who are currently making, or have successfully made, the transition from focusing on networth to focusing on Lifeworth. This includes both high achievers and every day individuals who have constructed lives worth living.

Hal D. Couillard, B. Comm. CFP, CLU, ChFC is a successful financial advisor and speaker with over 36 years of industry experience.
Dana J. Couillard, B.Sc. PD.Ed, is a professional educator, coach, and consultant specializing in human behavior and human dynamics.
Here's an introduction to some of the inspirational stories from the book, Lifeworth
Martha Birkett, Cochrane Alberta, a grandmother who rode her horse from Ottawa to Calgary in all kinds of true-Canadian weather over a period of four months to raise money and awareness for the Children’s Wish Foundation.
John Davidson, London Ontario, who, with his son Jesse, started Jesse’s Journey. This was the captivating story of a father and son on a mission to raise awareness of Duchenne muscular dystrophy, the condition from which Jesse suffered. Their goal was also to raise enough money to support research across North America to search for a cure for this debilitating and life-ending disease.
Paul Henderson, Ontario, a Canadian sports icon from his years with the Toronto Maple Leafs and especially for scoring “the goal” for Team Canada in 1972. He is also a Christian leadership mentor who is now battling chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
Alan Hobson, Canmore Alberta, a Mount Everest summiteer, cancer survivor, and dedicated motivational speaker. He took us from the peaks of the mountains to the valleys of being diagnosed with cancer and back to the peaks of being a passionate speaker about surviving cancer.
Katy Hutchison of Victoria, British Columbia, lost her husband Bob when he went to a try to get a neighbourhood house party to quiet down. In a haze of alcohol and drugs, the youth at the party, including a twenty-year old man named Ryan, ganged up on Bob and began beating him. Bob died of his wounds that same evening. Katy turned something ugly into something truly inspirational: a book, a film, and now she works with Leave Out Violence (LOVE) to educate Canadian youth to eliminate violence in schools and the rest of their lives.
