The 25th anniversary comes at an exciting time for the Authority. New President/Chief Executive Officer Linda S. Watson will start later this summer, and a new Board of Directors took the helm in January. The Authority has made significant progress under the new Board, including launching the MetroRail line, implementing key procedures for improving financial sustainability, and using a recent review by the Sunset Advisory Commission as an opportunity for positive change.
"After Capital Metro picked up its first customer 25 years ago, this organization continues its focus on providing great service to our community every single day," said Interim President/CEO Doug Allen. "The progress we've made over the past several months will benefit our customers and our entire region significantly as we continue to move forward."
Capital Metro is funded primarily through a one percent sales tax inside its service area.
