The new designs include whimsical dogs in "Chow Time", "Road Trip", and “MuttCracker Ballet” (too new for the website). "Got Coffee", which features classic grumpy characters (before they’ve had their morning dose of caffeine) that will remind you of your favorite coffee-lovers. The new welcome plaque, “Winter Welcome” features cheerful snow people with their adorable snow pets (shown in the photo section but too new for the website). Snowmen are again featured in “The Family’s All Assembled, Let the Journey Begin” (also too new for the website).
Other new designs include: "Running Rabbit", "Kiddie Cone", featuring a cute child bundled up in an ice cream cone, a vertical treatment of the popular "Roots of Love" and the new nativity, “Silent Night", pictured here but too new to be found on the website. “Our fans and collectors look forward to new pieces we release all the time,” said Deborah Carruth. “George puts his love and care in designing in each and every piece – a true, unique work of art that’s shareable – whether you give it as a gift or display it in your home or garden for all to enjoy.”
The introduction of colored patinas is another exciting change for Carruth Studio. The new patinas, “Aged Stone”, “Designer White”, “Green”, and “Terra Cotta” are hand painted on each of the stone sculptures and plaques. “The paint shows differently at different stages of the process and it has taken quite a bit of time to find just the right look,” said George Carruth. According to the artist, in the past directional lighting was crucial to help make tiny details stand out. “With these new finishes the sculpture comes to life in any environment,” said George Carruth. “People who have enjoyed the content of my plaques are now amazed as they discover all of the subtle details I include."
Original George Carruth pieces are some of the most sought-after collector’s items in the US, and his works can be found in The National Cathedral in Washington D.C., on the White House Christmas tree, on Home and Garden Television, and in the Botanical Gardens. They are often purchased as gifts and are very popular for Mother's Day, Father’s Day, and other holidays; as expressions of sympathy; wedding and anniversary gifts; pet memorials; installations; teacher’s gifts; expressions of thanks; as landscaping accents; as wedding table decorations; corporate gift giving; fundraisers; and as client closing gifts by realtors.
George and Deborah Carruth will showcase the new designs and new patinas at the upcoming AmericasMart show in Atlanta July 13-20, 2011.
