The new patinas, “Aged Stone” and “Designer White” are hand painted on each of the stone sculptures and plaques. Overall, the sculptures appear to have more depth and character, especially those plaques that have a verse or phrase sculpted onto the surface. “While the Aged Stone patina is not a great departure from the original subtle finish it adds more richness and enhances the tiniest details,” said Deborah Carruth.
According to the artist, in the past directional lighting was crucial to help make detail stand out. “With these new finishes the sculpture comes to life in any environment,” said George Carruth. “People who have enjoyed the content of my plaques are now amazed as they discover all of the subtle details I include."
The Designer White finish is an entirely new look and works well for designs chosen for indoor display. “We have been working to develop something that works well in both contemporary and traditional environments,” said Deborah Carruth. “The Designer White patina fits in the contemporary high design world and contrasts well with wall colors,” she added.
