With Retailer Tools 2.0, comic book retailers can now host their own fully-branded online communities powered by comiXology.com. The integration of Retailer Tools 2.0 into partner sites empowers comic book retailers with increased insight into their customers’ needs and better control over pull lists and subscriptions. Loaded with features, retailers can also gain instant access to the entire Diamond catalog for pre-order directly from their own sites.
Building on the success of comiXology’s current set of tools designed for in-store retailers, such as customized Cover Galleries and Pull List Services, Retailer Tools 2.0 will also allow stores to integrate blogs, calendars and discussion groups into their websites to strengthen customer loyalty.
Demoing at the ComicsPRO Annual Meeting from March 26th – March 27th, Retailer Tools 2.0 will be available in a variety of bundled packages, including Standard template, Customized Full Site integration and eCommerce integration, allowing retailers to run online stores powered by comiXology.
Currently more than 200 comic book merchants across the globe have integrated comiXology’s Retailer Tools into their websites. According to Kendall Swafford, owner of Up Up & Away Comics in Cincinnati, Ohio, “The right digital solutions have the power to entice readers to not only buy new comics, but to buy comics in print. comiXology’s Retailer Tools are the best way I’ve seen to effectively drive a digital audience to a brick-and-mortar operation.”
Owner of San Francisco based Isotope Comics James Sime shared similar sentiments. “comiXology is a thing of beauty! Since introducing it, we’ve noticed a 20% increase in sales per customer using its Pull List Services. There is nothing better than knowing that every single customer is getting what exactly they want and “comiXology's tools make that possible. Their mission is connecting customers to retailers and I'm thrilled to see the service continuing to
improve and innovate with Retailer Tools 2.0!"
Engaging readers through both digital and print comics has always been a major priority for comiXology.
“Brick-and-mortar retailers have been the soul of the comic book industry since day one,” said David Steinberger, CEO and co-founder of comiXology. “We take great pride in giving back to comic book retailers and supporting the industry’s growth. Today’s announcement reinforces our unwavering commitment to providing retailers the technology and expertise needed to bring them closer to their customers.”
In another demonstration of its deep ties and commitment to print comics, comiXology’s original digital series Box 13, in pre-order now under Diamond ID MAR101130, will be published in print by Red 5 Comics this May. It will also be a part of Red 5’s Free Comic Day Atomic Robo and Friends 2010 Issue (Diamond ID JAN100030).
