Elf Island Virtual World Creates Its Own Economic Stimulus Package

Atlanta, February 10, 2009 -- The government is issuing billions in bailout money to huge banks and financial institutions, but the small businesses of our country are getting little to no support. To continue to grow, small businesses like Atlanta-based Elf Island are creating their own economic stimulus plans.

Since President Obama has encouraged Americans to create their own opportunities in these challenging days, Elf Island has created its own economic stimulus package, creating incentives to stimulate interest -- and business -- for its own virtual world.

Elf Island (www.ElfIsland.com), a 15-person entreprenuerial start-up based in Atlanta, recently launched a virtual online world for kids. The site allows kids to play online "GoodQuest" games that mirror partnerships with real-world non-profit ventures.

It's tough to think about helping others in these economic times -- as many people are just trying to survive -- but Elf Island lets you do just that, with a unique online world that lets kids play games and do good at the same time. For example, this month kids are saving virtual sharks online while at the same time protecting real sharks from poachers in the Galapagos Islands.

The Elf Island Stimulus Plan - The Elf Island Stimulus plan begins March 3 and continues for 30 days.

1) Incentives to Stimulate Business - Visitors who register at www.ElfIsland.com will receive 40% off an annual membership (reduced to $27.95) or 25% off a 6 month membership (reduced to $17.95).

2) Elf Island "Tax Credits" - Additional family members who join will receive a $10 "tax credit" discount.

The creators expect tens of thousands of parents and kids to join the Elf Island community, but recognize that in this economy additional measures are needed to build interest among the parents and tweens who have an interest in "Gaming for Good." The Elf Island stimulus package will allow kids to Play Games and Do Good without breaking their family's wallets, while empowering kids to learn social responsibility and make a difference in the real world.

By the Numbers (www.score.org) - The estimated 27.2 million small businesses in the United States:
