The sweepstakes, announced January 22, awards one fan every time a Ford NASCAR Sprint Cup driver wins a points race this year. That lucky fan and a guest will win an all-expenses paid trip to Ford Championship Weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway. During the race weekend, one of those fans then will be selected as the grand prizewinner of a 2010 Ford Fusion.
Kenseth's first career Daytona 500 victory automatically creates the contest's first winner.
Kenseth took the lead for the first time on lap 146 of the race, just before a caution flag flew. Six laps later, under caution, rain started to fall and the race was declared over.
It was Kenseth's 17th career victory, and Ford's 10th win in the Daytona 500. It was also car owner Jack Roush's first Daytona 500 win, and Ford's 593rd win in NASCAR's top series.
"It's gonna be really wet out here tonight because I'm crying like a baby," said Kenseth shortly after he was declared the race winner. "Winning the Daytona 500 is definitely a dream moment. It's an unbelievable feeling."
Race fans can continue to register for the sweepstakes logging on to www.weraceyouwin.com anytime until Nov. 15, 2009. Obviously, the sooner the fans register, the more opportunities they have to win.
All of the Homestead winners will receive a trip for two to Ford Championship Weekend, including air, hotel, rental car, tickets to all three races, and a VIP visit with Ford drivers at the race track.
Fans who register will also have a chance to be eligible for one of 10 random monthly drawings of Ford Racing themed prizes, like autographed helmets, apparel packs and more.
