04.30.2009 – 04.30.2009 - China Travel 2.0 is pleased to announce an innovative and creative language resource solution for travelers and the travel editors coming to China from June 1st to June 14th, 2009.
Peter Davison and Winser Zhao felt it was important for the Editors participating in China Travel 2.0 to have language resources available to them that would be flexible in nature to handle the rigors of a fast pace trip. They have reached out to partner with the Global language social networking site of italki.com
Editors will be signed up for free memberships plus a pre-arranged amount of italki credits(ITC). This will allow them to meet local Chinese people online, take advantage of language tutorials, meet online in a group forum plus have the opportunity to meet people when they arrive in China through the italki.com partner program.
----------------------------------------------
Highlights:
1. Take a few tutorials prior to arriving in China (italki.com credits)
2. Meet the italki.com team and have a unique opportunity to discuss language and travel. (Part of our Shanghai experience)
3. Meet local Chinese people in their local environment rather than a fishbowl. We will have language partners along the way.
------------------------------------------------
Both companies feel that language is essential to a fulfilling immersive travel experience, especially in a country like China. When asked about the partnership, Eric Pang, President and COO stated:"We're thrilled to be part of China Travel 2.0 2009! By using a social networking and language learning site like ours, travellers can start talking with the locals BEFORE their trip, getting the inside scoop on the best places to see and the best things to do."
There is also potential for travelers from the social networking sites that the editors are representing to meet new people and we may see inter-site communication that makes a strong case for the role of social media in the travel industry. A great way to peak the curiosity of new readers or new language learners.
