11.10.2008 – EUGENE, Ore., Nov. 10, 2008 - Professor Deborah Morrison will accompany advertising students for a week of One Club creativity workshops from Nov. 15 to Nov. 21. The One Show China is the One Club''s eighth annual creative workshop in China. The Fudan University in Shanghai is hosting the event.
The students are Andy Liu from Beijing; Megan Nuttall from Hillsboro, Ore.; Rachel Hom from Olympia, Wash.; and Max Radi from Portland, Ore. Professor Morrison hand-picked these dedicated, driven students for this special opportunity.
Morrison says that the students were chosen because “they all show bright creative skills and run the gamut from a strong writer to art directors and producers.” Morrison added, “I''m very proud these four students were so ready to go and represent us.”
For Nuttall, this will be her first trip outside the United States. “I can''t wait to see another culture. I''m extremely interested to compare creative processes,” she said. Liu is looking forward to “meeting young Chinese professionals” and other creative minds from around the world.
The students will work on a creative brief with the help of creative directors and translators from around the world. The professionals attending hail from agencies worldwide, including Saatchi & Saatchi, Publicis and The Martin Agency. They will help guide the students through the creative process and share their industry wisdom through presentations and feedback.
Advertising professionals will present students with a creative brief. Students will then produce creative advertising work and receive feedback and guidance over four days. Students will give a final presentation, and there will be a party in celebration of the selected winners. Parts of their campaigns are likely to be used.
The One Club is a non-profit organization that promotes creative work in the advertising industry. It inspires and guides students and professionals to produce creative achievements. Through competitions, showcases and collaboration, the One Club brings students and professionals together.
