Cc:Betty Introduces its Most Significant Release Since Launch - Making Your Personal Email Assistant Even Smarter

06.03.2009 – PALO ALTO, Calif. - Cc:Betty, the company that organizes your group communications, is continuing to push the envelope in bringing email communications into the 21st century. In its latest release, the company has significantly enhanced the Cc:Betty mailspace, now making it even easier for users to track their email threads, know who said what when, and use email as a powerful collaboration tool.

After launching into beta at DEMO a couple months ago, the company has released several iterations to its product and user experience. This latest version marks the most significant release of the Cc:Betty mailspace, which is where Betty routes, parses, and organizes email conversations in a simple at-a-glance dashboard.

Continually tapping into user feedback, the Cc:Betty team developed several key new features, including:

  • An even simpler and visually rich instant summary of an entire conversation and all its content
  • Content such as maps, images and documents are now shown as large thumbnails, formatted automatically in each entry to the mailspace to make it easier to view without having to open each version
  • People navigation shows the list of people in your conversation, with the ability to easily filter the views by people that are on the email
  • Simpler conversation and content threading
  • The ability to easily invite additional people to the conversation directly through the mailspace

“People are getting used to all the great social platforms and tools available and email isn''t one of them," said Cc:Betty CEO and co-founder Michael Cerda. "Betty was designed to transport people out of old school email into a modern day mailspace where they can easily communicate, collaborate, share and engage in an organized and interconnected environment. Our goal is to make communicating simple and productive again. Our beta users are responding with great input and feedback, which is represented in this latest iteration."

The Cc:Betty mailspace serves as a clean, organized, and dynamic online "home" for everything shared in any email discussion. It illustrates email conversations in a single view and automatically:

  • Interprets addresses into interactive maps
  • Pulls multimedia files (pictures, video and audio) from messages and organizes them in their appropriate category
  • Displays photo attachments in a gallery
  • Queues video and audio file attachments in the appropriate video or audio player
  • Takes note of written dates and times and allows downloading to a calendar
