Brundage Mountain Resort Owners and Employees Honored by Intermountain Ski Areas Association

Brundage Mountain Resort Owners and Employees Honored by Intermountain Ski Areas Association

06.16.2009 – McCall, ID - The owners of Brundage Mountain Resort were honored this week at the annual conference of the Intermountain Ski Areas Association, along with two long-time Brundage Mountain employees.

Judd and Diane DeBoer were awarded the honor of “Outstanding Contribution” to the ski industry at an awards ceremony Wednesday, June 10th at the Shore Lodge. The ceremony closed the three-day ISAA conference hosted by Brundage and the Shore Lodge. The Intermountain Ski Areas Association is a trade organization that represents membership made up of ski areas located in Utah, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.

The DeBoers were acknowledged for steering the vision for Brundage Mountain Resort since 1985 following their purchase of founder Warren Brown’s interest in the ski area. Judd and Diane, (Warren Brown’s daughter), have kept the family legacy alive by honoring Brown’s vision for the resort and its role in the community. The DeBoer family acquired full ownership of Brundage Mountain in 2006, when they purchased the share previously owned by the JR Simplot Company.

In addition to the contribution to Brundage Mountain, Judd DeBoer has been active as an advocate for the ski industry on the national level, the Intermountain level, and also with the Idaho Ski Areas Association.

Meantime, two long-time Brundage Mountain employees were added to the list of regional industry icons as they accepted their “Golden Wrench” awards. Lift Maintenance Manager Brian Valle won the “Golden Wrench” award for Lifts, while Assistant Mountain Manager and Vehicle Maintenance Manager Eddy Wilhoyt was given the “Golden Wrench” honor for Vehicle Maintenance. Valle has worked for Brundage Mountain for over 20 years. Wilhoyt has been with the company for more than 8 years.
