Remember to Send "Holiday Mail For Heroes" And Thank a Service Member this Thanksgiving

11.26.2008 – WASHINGTON, November 26, 2008-For the second year in a row, the American Red Cross and Pitney Bowes are collecting cards to distribute to service members and their families around the world this holiday season. This year a million cards are expected and will be distributed at more than 300 military installations and hospitals around the world.

There are many ways you can take part in sending a special greeting to a service member this holiday season:
• Visit www.redcross.org/holidaymail for program guidelines and the mailing address
• Sign our eCard, online at http://www.groupcard.com/c/TeqOvxYOleS
• Leave a message for a service member on our Services to Armed Forces Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/American-Red-Cross-Service-to-Armed-Forces/20289296475)
• Add a Holiday Mail for Heroes banner to your website or blog (http://www.redcross.org/psa/bannerorder/all/holidayheroes.asp)

“Holiday Mail for Heroes” is in place to help reduce the burden on military hospitals who receive large numbers of cards for soldiers. If you receive emails encouraging you to send cards to these locations please consider sending them instead through the Holiday Mail for Heroes program.
