07.16.2009 – Prescott (July 15, 2009) - On Saturday August 15, 2009 Grayleaf Galleria and InklessMagazine.com will be hosting a special Charity Fundraiser “The Art of Giving” to benefit Camp Soaring Eagle. The event will take place at The Grayleaf Galleria in the Terra Cotta Court in Historic Downtown Prescott located at 124 South Granite Street directly across from Prescott’s Parking Structure. The event will run from 10 am to 8 pm and will entertain guests of all ages with live music, face painting, poetry performances, live painting demos by gallery artists, and a silent Art Auction.
Camp Soaring Eagle, currently under construction in Sedona, Arizona will provide recreational and therapeutic camping experiences to children with serious illnesses and life-threatening conditions. While at camp, these children will discover the joys of childhood often missed during extended medical treatment. Aspiring to become a member of Paul Newman’s internationally acclaimed “Hole in the Wall Camps”, Camp Soaring Eagle is following stringent guidelines to ensure the camp meets the highest safety standards and quality programming. Camp Soaring Eagle when complete will be the only year-round, dedicated medically-based camping facility in the state of Arizona. Camp Soaring Eagle will be able to adapt its medical facility to welcome various illness groups each week and Camp Soaring Eagle will be completely free of charge to the campers and their families.
Grayleaf Galleria will be showcasing an original painting by Camp Soaring Eagle’s official spokesperson, Jane Seymour. This painting featuring a rendition of her open heart amongst the red rocks of Sedona was created specifically for Camp Soaring Eagle. Signed Limited Edition Art Prints will be available for sale with 100% of the proceeds benefitting the camp. A Silent Art Auction will also take place at Grayleaf Galleria with art donated by the Gallery’s artists. All proceeds from the Silent Art Auction will benefit Camp Soaring Eagle.
Imagine Art of Sedona will be introducing the Prescott area to the “Tiles for Smiles Program”. Guests will have the opportunity to purchase a tile for $10 and paint the tile with inspirational images. The tiles will be permanently installed in the camper cabins at Camp Soaring Eagle and the money raised will assist in completing construction of camp. Gallery artists will be hand painting tiles and offering design and painting tips.
Camp Soaring Eagle representatives will be on-site to educate people about this world renowned project being built in northern Arizona. Stop by their table to learn more or to purchase pieces of Jane Seymour’s Open Heart Jewelry Collection & Books.
