Positively Cleveland Names New Board Members

Three Elected to Board of Directors

07.27.2009 – CLEVELAND, OH - Positively Cleveland announced the election of three new members of the board of directors. The members are:

• Doug Katz is the owner and executive chef at fire food and drink in Shaker Square. Prior to that, he was executive chef at Moxie, and is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America. Katz has won multiple awards and much recognition including Celebrity Chef Ambassador at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, 2007 - 2009; Art of the Table, Salt Lake City Olympics, February 22, 2002; James Beard house dinner, October 2000; and Reader's Digest, Rising Star of American Cuisine, August 1999.

• Paul Matsen joined the Cleveland Clinic in 2006. As Chief Marketing and Communications Officer he is responsible for all marketing and communications programs at the Cleveland Clinic including global development of the brand, marketing of key clinical lines of service, regional and international locations and online marketing. Matsen also leads employee communications, public relations and the Clinic's social media programs. Prior to joining the Cleveland Clinic, Matsen was the Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Delta Air Lines.

• Bob Megazzini has been the Area General Manager at the Cleveland Marriott Downtown at Key Center since December of 2006. He recently celebrated his 25th year service anniversary with Marriott. Megazzini currently oversees approximately 250 associates, covering all operations of the hotel, along with providing sales and revenue leadership for 16 Marriott properties in the Cleveland area.

Positively Cleveland is the region's convention and visitors bureau. It is the only organization responsible for promoting the amenities and assets of the region to attract both business and leisure visitors. The region's tourism industry produces a $6.4 billion revenue impact, generated $456 million in state and local taxes, and is the fourth largest employer with 64,000 jobs. Members of the board of directors oversee the marketing and sales strategy as well as the public advocacy efforts on behalf of the tourism industry.
