08.20.2009 – PitchEngine, a new social platform that enables PR to effectively package stories featuring social content to better collaborate with journalists, bloggers and influencers worldwide surpassed the 10,000 brand mark Thursday.
Less than a year out of beta, PitchEngine's unique social PR platform has garnered the attention of major corporations, small brands and PR agencies from around the globe. The company's first product, which enables users to easily create and share Social Media Releases (SMRs), has generated more than 25,000 releases to date.
"Before PitchEngine, SMRs were experiencing a relatively slow adoption. People didn't have an easy solution for creating them and the options that existed were expensive and more like traditional releases with photos," said the company's founder, Jason Kintzler.
"We believe the future of public relations requires more than the top-down, journalist-to-news outlet model provides. Using social media, brands are cultivating and "owning" their audiences who require a different approach. AP-style word docs aren't going to get it done by themselves anymore. It's time for good, captivating content and we're going to empower communicators to create it," said Kintzler.
In the past few months, PitchEngine has been the platform for some innovative PR techniques.
