Coupa Software Passes SAS 70 Type II Audit
Independent audit of Coupa e-Procurement demonstrates controls and safeguards for customer Data
08.28.2009 – Coupa Software, developer of category-disrupting Web-based spend management solutions, announced today that its internal controls and processes passed a Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 Type II (SAS-70 Type II) audit conducted by SAS70 Solutions.
SAS-70 Type II is an internationally recognized auditing standard developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). A SAS-70 Type II audit or service auditor's examination is widely recognized, because it represents that a service organization has been through an in-depth audit of their control activities and processes. The audit covers critical items such as information security, computer operations, application change control, data communications, and administration and financial practices. In today's global economy, service organizations must demonstrate that they have adequate controls and safeguards when they host or process data belonging to their clients.
"We chose to go through the audit to further ensure confidence in our services and to simplify client compliance with legal and audit requirements," states Rob Bernshteyn, Coupa's CEO. "We are on track to process $750 million in customer spend by year-end. The report demonstrates that we have adequate controls and safeguards in place. We are finding that such controls are a strong value-add for our clients' and a pre-requisite for many."
