“We had a fantastic first summer and wanted to share the excitement and thrill of Cirque Polynesia with as many kama’aina’s as possible,” explained Doug Harris, Managing Partner, Cirque Polynesia. “With everyone feeling a pinch in their wallets, we wanted to make it easier for local families and their guests to enjoy a great night out whatever the occasion.”

Families wanting to bring their children will also now see significant cost savings. VIP child admission is now $39 and child premier is $29 compared to $52.50 and $39.50, respectively.

Cirque Polynesia is a 75-minute show featuring back-to-back performances that leave parents and their children awing at acts such as those put on by family members of the legendary Wallenda family. A modern-day aerial act, known as the “perch,” involves daughter Lyric hanging by one ankle while twirling mother Rietta like a helicopter blade high above the audience.
Cirque artists from Hawaii, Russia, Germany, Kazakhstan and Moldova (Eastern Europe) perform aerial acrobatics, aerial illusions and quick-costume change transformations that make up just some of the other acts.
Beginning Monday, September 14, Cirque Polynesia will play five nights a week from Monday through Friday. Its new dark nights will be Saturdays and Sundays instead of Tuesdays. Doors will continue to open half-hour prior to show’s 7 p.m. start-time.
The Hyatt Monarchy Ballroom’s theatre-style, split-level seating, creates a special intimacy between the audience and performers. The modified 500-seat room boasts an expanded stage, along with enhanced show lighting and audio effects and capabilities.
The show’s original live music score was written by Daniel Cruces who also plays drums and electric percussion. Local musician, Diane Salonga Rubio, performs solo on electric cello, Chinese violin, ukulele, Hawaiian flute and electric guitar.
