02.15.2009 – Legendary actress Jane Fonda has launched Janefonda.com, a blog that allows fans an inside look at the behind the scenes of her return to Broadway and her life. Coinciding with her return to Broadway in Moises Kaufman’s “33 Variations” JaneFonda.com is an authentic approach to connecting with her fans online like never before. Jane says about her blogging adventure, “I was about to begin rehearsals for a new Broadway play after 45 years away from the stage and thought it might be interesting to take people through the process day by day.”
JaneFonda.com features photos, videos and several in-depth blog posts that will give readers a sense of Jane’s many ventures. “I have an interesting, multifaceted life. I write, I act, I am associated with fitness, I am an activist. I get letters all the time from women and men, young and old, asking me questions about all these aspects of my life. I thought that perhaps a blog could answer people''s questions, expose them to all the facets.”
Jane has also ventured into the world of deeper social media engagement by launching a Twitter profile (@janefonda). “I''m seventy-one years old and never thought I would become a blogger. I find this totally fascinating. Receiving peoples'' comments, having that kind of immediate access to people''s thinking is amazing to me.”
James Andrews, an Atlanta based social media pr evangelist, developed JaneFonda.com and is consulting Jane on her journey in social media. “ James is the one who convinced me to blog......He pointed out to me that there’s such malarkey floating around the net about me. Why not begin to tell my own story, my thoughts, and activities (past, present and future) rather than letting others-sometimes hostile others-try to put out their own spin on me. That’s part of it. But the idea also occurred to me that I was about to launch into a new adventure in this third act of mine and that it might be interesting to bring people along with me.”
