Phoebe Cates Dazzles On Oscar Red Carpet With Husband Kevin Kline
Actress and Owner of NYC Boutique Blue Tree Shines in Exclusive RTW Pieces
02.22.2009 – Phoebe Cates, owner and operator of the New York City boutique Blue Tree, walked the red carpet for Sunday's 81st Annual Academy Awards in designs exclusively found in her Upper East Side shop. Ms. Cates, wife of Oscar® winning actor, Kevin Kline, wore an art deco inspired dress with red layers of silk chiffon with black beading details on the top, designed by Sorelle Firenze, with jewelry exclusively from Fred Leighton. Her shoes were provided by Rupert Sanderson.
Ms. Cates accompanied Mr. Kline for the ceremony, as Mr. Kline was a presenter for the evening. Ms. Cates is the star of such cult classic films as Fast Times at Ridgemont High and Gremlins, and most recently co-starred in The Anniversary Party.
Blue Tree is a charming New York City boutique and is nestled in a brownstone on Manhattan's Upper East Side. Blue Tree specializes in select gifts from around the world, clothing and jewelry from exclusively represented European designers, one-of-a-kind accessories, as well as its own private label design clothing. It is also the home of the "Give You the Moon," jewelry line - conceived and designed by Ms. Cates herself.
