LOS ANGELES, January 11, 2012 – Lauded children’s theater visionary Boxtales Theater Company returns to the Geffen Playhouse to kick off the new year with Silly Rabbits, Tricksters Are for Kids, a humorous and magical journey filled with wily creatures who teach folk wisdom, morals and life lessons. In this collection of trickster tales from around the world, including Brer Rabbit, Brer Alligator in Trouble, Tio Conejo and Raven and the Man Who Sits on the Tide, Boxtales Theater Company inspires self-reliance and creative problem solving. Donning their signature masks and weaving in bilingual elements, Boxtales draws from a variety of cultures to make this show a global adventure.
Silly Rabbits, Tricksters Are for Kids is recommended for children ages 5 to 11 and will be brought to life on Saturday, January 28 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gil Cates Theater at the Geffen Playhouse. The performance will be followed by complimentary snacks donated by returning sponsors Gelson’s Market and Pretzel Crisps. Tickets are $10 for children and $15 for adults or can be purchased as part of a subscription (which packages three or more shows and begins at $30).
