GEICO hiring steps up for future Buffalo associates

GEICO plans to fill almost 300 sales, service and claims positions for two different company operations in the Buffalo office this year, and associates have come up with a new way to tell the GEICO story to prospective employees.

Recently they appeared in an internal music video with colleagues from Buffalo and Woodbury, N.Y. GEICO’s rock star Gecko made a special guest appearance.

In true GEICO style, the video takes comedic turns, but along with the fun is the determination to staff GEICO’s growing operations with top notch professionals.

“Here at GEICO we take a lot of pride in our associates because they’re the ones who deliver results,” said Steve Cunningham, regional vice president of GEICO’s Buffalo office. “By keeping morale high, we also keep our quality of work high.”

John Zinno, president of the GEICO insurance agency noted, “If you’re a motivated, hard-working candidate, we definitely encourage you to apply.”

Along with a touch of fun, GEICO knows what else is important to potential job candidates and the company is promoting an array of jobs –sales representatives, claims professionals and service representatives– and benefits that include health plans, paid vacation, sick and personal leave and excellent opportunities for advancement.

Last year, roughly 500 promotions took place in GEICO’s Buffalo office.

“Despite the uncertain economy, GEICO continues to grow steadily throughout the country,” added Cunningham. “We need good people to take advantage of the opportunities we can provide.”

New associates might even find themselves in a future music video.
