Featured in the December 2009/January 2010 Men’s Journal issue currently on newsstands, the five-ounce Crucial multi-tool receives high marks for being “efficiently minimal”. The half-serrated blade is strong and blunt-nosed making it useful for a variety of tasks, while the tool is void of instruments that have no real bearing in the field.
“We are exceptionally honored to receive the Men’s Journal Gear of the Year award for the Crucial,” said Stephanie Murphy, Gerber Marketing Director. “It’s a validation of the hard work and dedication our team pours into every product Gerber makes and we think the Crucial hits a particular sweet spot in the marketplace.”
The Crucial tool blade and tools are crafted from 420 high-carbon stainless steel, while handles made from anodized aluminum add a pleasing aesthetic. Rounding out the Crucial tool’s functionality are needle-nosed pliers with wire cutters, flat and Phillips screwdrivers, and a carabiner that doubles as a bottle opener.
