Trish Coghlan has been named the new Chief Executive Officer of the Girl Scouts of North-Central Alabama. Trish comes to the Girl Scouts from the Alabama/Germany Partnership where she serves as Executive Director working with German companies to locate in Alabama. She has also worked for the city of Leeds to assist them in developing their Economic Empowerment Program. Trish has extensive experience in non-profit organizations as she has served as Executive Director of the Amistad Mission in Bolivia, South America, Coordinator for the Metropolitan Birmingham Services for the Homeless, as well as working for the American Red Cross as a caseworker.
As a member of the Birmingham chapter of the Executive Women International, Trish was the 2003 Rookie of the Year and received the Jo DeMoll Representative of the Year award in 2005. Her personal volunteer activities include First Light, March for Miles (founding member and volunteer), Civil Air Patrol volunteer and she has served as President of the Greater Birmingham Chapter of the American Society of Public Administration.
Trish has a B.S. in Sociology from Missouri State University and a Masters of Public Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
