GSN’s CATCH 21 Hits a Third Screen with New iPhone App
iPhone App Joins Free and Cash Versions of Game, Giving Fans More Ways to Play
12.22.2009 – GSN (Game Show Network) today unveiled its CATCH-21 iPhone application, giving game show fans and casual gamers another way to build winning hands and play for prizes. Based on the hit game show hosted by Alfonso Ribeiro, GSN’s CATCH-21 iPhone application is a skill-based spin on Blackjack (aka “21”).
“Catch-21 has consistently been a top ten game on GSN.com, appealing to both casual gamers and game show fans,” said Peter Blacklow, president of WorldWinner and EVP of GSN Digital. “With this new iPhone application, we’re bringing CATCH-21 to mobile consumers who are increasingly engaged in smartphone entertainment.”
iPhone owners can now compete against other players for Oodles, GSN’s winnable and redeemable online bucks. Whether Oodles are won on an iPhone, iPod touch or online, they can be used for prizes including retail gift cards, electronics and daily, weekly, and monthly sweepstakes entries.
The CATCH-21 iPhone application will closely mirror the online version of the game, which is available at WorldWinner.com and GSN.com. Game show fans can also tune in to CATCH 21 to see host Alfonso Ribeiro quiz contestants as they compete to win playing cards and build a hand that comes closest to 21.
