Los Angeles, CA –November 16, 2011: Each year, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (HFH GLA) partners with hardworking, low-income families and individuals to build safe, affordable and sustainable housing that they can call home. Many of these partner homeowners, however, continue to struggle to provide basic necessities for their families, like food and clothing, which can make the holiday season a challenging time of year. The Adopt a Habitat for Humanity Partner Family program is accepting contributions in any amount now through December 14th and 100% of the donations benefit hardworking families in Greater Los Angeles.
There are several ways to donate this season. A donation of $250 will cover an entire family. Monetary donations in any amount, or an in-kind donation (i.e. gift card), will go towards adopting a family. Also, contributions can be made by fundraising with friends, family and/or co-workers to adopt one or more families.
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles develops valuable and lasting relationships with its partner homeowners as they work towards homeownership and long after the work is done. All HFH GLA partner homeowners agree to pay back a zero-interest loan and volunteer up to 500 hours of “sweat equity” in the building of their home. For more information on becoming a partner homeowner, please visit www.habitatla.org.
All contributions to the Adopt a Family program must be received by December 14, 2011. Click here to make a donation or contact Sylvia Bautista for more information at sbautista@habitatla.org or 424-246-3645.
