The Indiana CPA Society (INCPAS) was recognized for accomplishments by the Indiana Society of Association Executives (ISAE) at the annual STAR Award banquet held Dec. 8, 2011, at the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library in Indianapolis. The 10th annual STAR Awards was designed to celebrate the accomplishments of the association profession and the individuals who help make the profession in Indiana a success.

Courtney Kincaid, INCPAS membership and volunteer manager, received an Individual Award of Achievement when she was awarded the Rising STAR of the Year. Kincaid was recognized for her significant contributions to INCPAS and the association/not-for-profit profession. She has shown dedication and innovation in her position while actively participating and supporting ISAE programs and services.

In response to receiving the award, Kincaid said, "It was a complete surprise, but a great honor, to be named ISAE’s 2011 Rising STAR award winner. Though this is an “individual” award, I owe much of my success to my team at the Society. Without their support and encouragement, many of my achievements wouldn’t have been possible. I am happy to have such great co-workers and colleagues."

Additionally, INCPAS received an Award of Excellence when it was awarded with Best Membership Program in the over $750,000 annual budget category. The Society was recognized for the reconstruction of its new member packet. The new member packet was reconstructed to take a more engaging and less traditional route to attract new Indiana CPA Society members.

Kincaid, who accepted the award on behalf of the Society, led the project to redesign the new member packet with input from member services and communications staff. They worked together to incorporate marketing copy, the INCPAS brand and value proposition messaging.

"The Indiana CPA Society exists to serve its members. But our members are very diverse, which means they have different needs. Knowing that first impressions are lasting impressions, we wanted to be sure that we started our relationship on a high note. Our new welcome program strives to introduce our new members to programs and services we feel will suit their unique, individual needs. It does so in a way that’s efficient for staff and remains adaptable to our members’ changing professional needs," said Kincaid.

Since 2001, the Society has been awarded with 15 STAR Awards of Excellence including 12 in the past five years. The STAR Awards, which stands for Society's Top Association Recognition, are given in recognition of an Indiana association's professionals, activities and programs that are making a difference.

ISAE exists to support and strengthen association professionals’ success. It provides the state's leading educational and networking events designed specifically for the needs of association executives. Members provide professional leadership to Indiana's outstanding associations. These associations include a broad variety of professions, industries, societies and social organizations. Collectively, they represent hundreds of thousands of members throughout the state, country and world.

Currently, more than 7,000 CPAs in public practice, industry, government and education are members of the Indiana CPA Society. INCPAS serves the public interest as well as its members. Its members are required to abide by the CPA profession's code of conduct. INCPAS members also receive access to quality educational programs provided by the Society, resources that enable them to better perform their job functions, and peer networking for information sharing that broadens their skills and knowledge base. Indiana CPA Society members are the most highly qualified and competent CPAs in Indiana. Make sure your CPA is a member of the Indiana CPA Society.
