(CHICAGO, IL USA) – The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) is pleased to announce the opening of the 16th annual IIDA/Contract Magazine Showroom and Booth Design Competition. The IIDA/Contract Magazine Showroom and Booth Design Competition seeks to honor originality of design, visual impact, effective use of materials and the outstanding use of space, color, texture and graphics in showrooms and booths at NeoCon 2011. Entries to the competition will be accepted until June 1, 2011.
NeoCon exhibitors may enter in four different categories: Booths less than 400 square feet, booths greater than or equal to 400 square feet, showrooms less than 4,000 square feet, and showrooms greater than or equal to 4,000 square feet. A Best of Show Award will also be presented.
Last year, Creative Excellence awards were presented to the following exhibitors:
• The Award for Showrooms larger than 4,000 sq. ft. was presented to Herman Miller Healthcare, designed by Propp + Guerin, Remedy, tvsdesign, and Stanley Beaman & Sears.
• The Award for Showrooms of 4,000 sq. ft. or less was presented to Mannington Commercial designed by Mannington Commercial and Scout Branding.
Previous winners have included: Nurture by Steelcase, Leland International, Amtico International, Haworth, Luna Textiles, Lumicor, Milliken Carpet, Antron, 3Form, KEILHAUER, Maharam, Nood Floorcovering and TRICYCLE, Inc.
Submissions will be judged by a jury of design professionals on the morning of Sunday, June 12 at NeoCon 2011. All winners will be featured in an upcoming issue of Contract magazine as well as on the IIDA website. Categories may not be awarded every year.
