02.24.2009 – Jane Fonda talked about her excitement over using Twitter and blogging during recent visit to "The View" and NBC's "Today Show" to promote her new Broadway play "33 Variations." She proclaimed, "I did something I have never done before...I twittered The Oscars, which people really enjoyed the fact that having won two Oscars I'm at home twittering."
Jane, who turned 71 this year, started blogging at JaneFonda.com and using Twitter (@janefonda) on January 5th has already gained a following from fans who enjoy her authentic and honest approach to writing. As a new and passionate blogger, she has even blogged in between acts backstage from her "33 Variations" dressing room. On February 9th she states, " We're half way through the second act. I have a 15 minute break between my scenes and I can't resist telling you how much the audience seems to be loving the play."
When asked about why she started blogging Fonda replied, "It was the beginning of the year and I met a tech person in Atlanta {James Andrews} who persuaded me to do this and I thought well I'm about to start this play it would be interesting to take people through this process and it turns out I'm enjoying it a lot."
