“It’s just a fun day,” remarked Steve Wright, the festival’s founder and Jay Peak’s vice president of Marketing. “When we started this thing, it was really small; I think 30 people showed up. But through the years, we’ve added two bands to the day and more and more vendors, and word got out that it’s a great way to spend the day with friends and family.”
Rick Redington and the Luv will again headline the festival with their folk-abilly-rasta-jam-rock style and the gratefully-inspired bluegrass of Reckless Breakfast will get things underway at noon. The August West Festival runs from 12:00pm-6:00pm and will feature a barbeque and beer garden; food, craft, and art vendors; live music; and even some alpacas and a camel or two. As always, there will be the Tie Dye Village and scoops of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream.
