Renowned fine art photographer Jeff Mitchum is donating a rare collector’s edition print of “Triumph of Light and Hope,” valued at $125,000 and made complete with a matching glass sculpture by Markian Olynyk titled “Unveiled,” for the live auction at Keep Memory Alive’s Power of Love Gala at the MGM Grand Garden Arena February 18. Captured with the intention to represent the community’s efforts to battle mind-robbing diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, the funds raised through auctioning off the piece will benefit Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health and Muhammad Ali Center.
After sharing many evenings in solitude with the Center for Brain Health and considering all the people and work the Center represents, Mitchum settled on a composition that captures the architectural wonder as the moon rises over it. The different moon phases symbolize important facets of the Center such as fundraising, research and commitment, with each moon representing the evolution of the healing process. The journey begins with the sliver of a crescent and culminates with the stunning luminescence of the full moon, where the mind is restored and the battle is won.
The image is framed with the metal used to build the Center for Brain Health by Frank Gehry. This exclusive print will also be signed by Larry Ruvo, Frank Gehry as well as Jeff Mitchum. Mitchum will appear on stage during the auction among other VIP and celebrity attendees to support this outstanding event.
