Lunde Leads Strong Kodak Challenge Field to Hole No. 15 at the Travelers Championship

Drivable Par 4 No. 15 Gives Pros Plenty of Chances this week in Kodak Race

ROCHESTER, N.Y., June 20, 2011 – With just 12 holes remaining in the chase for the Kodak Challenge $1 million, the season-long competition visits one of the PGA TOUR’s most exciting holes, the driveable par 4 No. 15 at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, CT. Kodak Challenge leader, Bill Lunde is among a host of top Kodak contenders in the field this week at the Travelers Championship on June 23-26. The Travelers Championship is the 19th of 30 tournaments to participate in the winner-takes-all Kodak Challenge competition.

The Kodak Challenge was created to celebrate the beautiful holes and memorable moments in golf. Golfers must play at least 18 of 30 Kodak Challenge holes throughout the season to qualify. The golfer with the best Kodak Challenge score relative to par at the end of the season will win the Kodak Challenge trophy and $1 million.

As of June 20, Bill Lunde leads the Kodak Challenge at 11-under-par. Joining Lunde in the field this week at the Travelers Championship are 13 players within three strokes of the lead, including Cameron Tringale and Charley Hoffman, who are just one stroke behind at 10-under-par.

Lunde was one of six pros last year to post an eagle on the drivable par 4 No. 15 at TPC River Highlands. The current Kodak leader dropped a 52-footer from just off the green during the second round to card a deuce on the 296-yard hole.

About the Kodak Challenge Hole at Travelers Championship – Par-4 296-yard #15
The shortest par 4 on the PGA TOUR at 296 yards, #15 at TPC River Highlands dares pros to take out a driver and go for the green. It is a classic risk/reward hole featuring a large pond that comes into play short and left of the green. In windy conditions, the pros often hit an iron off the tee, leaving a full wedge to the green. A layup off the tee leaves a wedge into a small, multi-leveled green with narrow shelves in the corners, making getting a chip shot or even a long putt very tenuous on this 296-yard hole.
