SEATTLE - (April 24, 2009) - Krispy Kreme has launched an entirely new product, Krispy Kreme Baked Cakes. Baked fresh daily, Krispy Kremes’ new cakes are currently available at the following Krispy Kreme locations: Beaverton, Ore.; Seattle, Wash. SODO; and Spokane, Wash.
The personally sized cakes are oven baked at the store locations each morning from an ultra rich cake batter that was developed exclusively by KremeWorks Pastry Chef utilizing the finest ingredients. Krispy Kreme Baked Cakes are available in two flavors:
- Fresh Baked Coffee Cake: With a homemade old fashioned coffee cake feel, these light and fluffy cakes are individually made with the finest ingredients using whole fresh eggs, natural spices and a blend of cinnamon. Each cake is topped with a streusel topping and finished with Krispy Kreme’s original glaze.
- Fresh Baked Chocolate Cake: To create an intense chocolate flavor, Krispy Kreme blends together two of the finest cocoa powders: French Valrhona Cocoa, made from 100% pure unsweetened Dutch cocoa and considered one of the most luxurious chocolates in the world; and an intense, mahogany colored Cocoa De Zann. Each cake is finished with a coating of Krispy Kreme’s signature chocolate fling glaze and crumbles.

The freshly baked cakes will widen Krispy Kreme’s menu, offering an alternative option to those who are looking for something different. Krispy Kreme will roll out the baked cakes to all their Washington and Oregon locations as well as offer additional flavors.
