Lake Erie is Sporting Eight New Ice Hockey Rinks

Temporary Rinks are in Place for Labatt Blue Buffalo Pond Hockey

Eight ice rinks have now emerged on Lake Erie after City of Buffalo crews spent days measuring, marking, edging and shoveling the area in preparation for 112 teams to hit the ice at the Labatt Blue Buffalo Pond Hockey Tournament on Feb. 27 and 28. As crews continue working with the rinks to get them in top shape for the two-day tournament, frequent ice checks are made to ensure the thickness remains at a minimum of ten inches for ideal game conditions.
