MarketingProfs' "Power Forum" to Investigate Convergence of Blogging & Social Media

Scott Rosenberg, Peter Shankman, Andy Sernovitz to discuss the future of social media at MarketingProfs' Digital Mixer

NEW YORK – Research and marketing education leader MarketingProfs is bringing the top minds in social media and blogging together October 21 in Chicago to hash out what's really working (and what isn't) in social communities online—and what the future holds for social media marketers.

The Power Forum on Social Media and Blogging: What's Next? will convene at noon October 21 at the MarketingProfs Digital Marketing Mixer, a two-day conference being held October 21-22 at the Chicago Hyatt Regency O'Hare.

Scott Rosenberg, co-founder of Salon and author of Say Everything, will moderate the discussion, with panel members Peter Shankman, founder of Help A Reporter Out (HARO), and Andy Sernovitz, author of Word of Mouth Marketing: How Smart Companies Get People Talking joining the discussion. Collectively, these experts will address crucial questions on the minds of today's marketers, including:
• How do I know whether to use a blog or Twitter, MySpace or Facebook?
• How important is it to keep up with each new "flavor of the month" platform?
• Where is the social-networking field headed, and how do we prepare for its future?
