Memorial Hermann Honors Local Cancer Survivors with Music, Art and More
06.03.2009 – WHAT: Hundreds of local cancer survivors will unite on Wednesday to celebrate cancer survivorship and hear messages of inspiration at Memorial Hermann's Second Annual Cancer Survivors Day.
The event will feature an interactive panel discussion by survivors and caregivers, as well as a Resource Fair with more than 20 exhibitors offering information pertinent to survivorship. Additionally, the Lilly Oncology on Canvas Art Exhibit featuring works of art created by cancer survivors will be on display. The day will end with live music from Hugworks, a band that specializes in bringing therapeutic entertainment, music therapy, comfort and encouragement to adults and children.

WHY: Memorial Hermann's Second Annual Cancer Survivor's Day is being held in celebration of National Cancer Survivors Day®, an annual, worldwide Celebration of Life that is held in hundreds of communities throughout the United States, Canada, and other participating countries. Participants unite in a symbolic event to show the world that life after a cancer diagnosis can be a reality.
