In December 2009, a catastrophic fire forced the Montpelier Senior Activity Center at 58 Barre Street to close its doors at this location. Since then, the community and a host of community supporters have worked tirelessly to renovate and update the Center’s facilities.
The remodeled and upgraded facility will dramatically improve the organization’s ability to enhance the quality of life for older adults in the Montpelier area. Included as part of the renovations were two large mezzanine rooms used for classes and activities, a new kitchen, solar panels, new pellet boiler, sprinkler system, elevator, air conditioning and much more. The Montpelier Senior Activity Center has served thousands of people for nearly 50 years. And the Center is an integral part of the organization’s continued success.
