Saluting America’s Smallest Heroes

March/April Issue of MHS Profiles Honors Military Children

This month’s issue of MHS Profiles looks at people and programs within the DoD that are dedicated to the family and children of those who serve. In support of April’s Month of the Military Child, the issue discusses how the DoD partners with nonprofit organizations to ensure the well-being of military children.

From special television programs put out by the makers of Sesame Street, to camps held specifically for military children, to an organization that allows deployed parents to record DVDs of them reading to their kids, this issue of MHS Profiles focuses the programs, organizations and services that help children cope with a parent’s deployment. The issue tells the story of America’s smallest heroes – military children.

MHS Profiles combines social and traditional media to revolutionize the way the MHS communicates with its staff and the general public. The series of personalized articles focuses on the people who work on innovative and progressive programs designed to meet the needs of our service members, veterans and their families.
