MOUNT PLEASANT COMMEMORATES 150TH ANNIVERSARY WITH AN EVOLUTIONAL CHANGE

Mount Pleasant Winery in Augusta is now Mount Pleasant

Beginning July 1st, Mount Pleasant Winery in Augusta will be known as Mount Pleasant, reflecting a new approach at the winery and an enhanced visitor experience. The winery’s location in Branson will still be known as Mount Pleasant Winery.

Mount Pleasant will also put some of its premier bottles of wine under a new Estate label called Mount Pleasant Estates. The winery’s Norton, Claret, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Villagio will all be under the Mount Pleasant Estates label. The winery unveiled its Estate-labeled wines to the general public at Shakespeare Festival St. Louis, May 20 - June 14.

“To commemorate our 150th Anniversary, we are elevating the Mount Pleasant experience,” said Chuck Dressel, President of Mount Pleasant Winery. “We are creating a niche for ourselves as a boutique winery, producing some of the best wine that not only Missouri, but the U.S. has to offer. Our Mount Pleasant Estates label reflects our commitment to excellence.”

Mount Pleasant is celebrating its 150th Anniversary with exciting new offerings at their winery in Augusta. Building on their longstanding commitment to sustainable viticulture, Mount Pleasant is greening the visitor experience. The winery has also created a new expanded grill menu and eliminated the $5 cover charge for band dates.

“We are the ideal escape for people who truly enjoy the culture of wine,” said Dressel.

Mount Pleasant Winery, founded in 1859, is located a short distance from St. Louis in Augusta, Missouri, the first government-appointed wine-growing district in the United States. The winery grows 16 grape varieties on 85 acres and its original limestone cellars are still used to age estate-bottled wines and international award-winning Augusta Ports. Visitors enjoy tasting wine in the spacious 4,000 square-foot tasting room and sipping wine on the terrace with spectacular views of the Missouri River Valley.
