INDIANAPOLIS (Sept. 1, 2010) – The U.S. Army will celebrate the 10th anniversary of its partnership with the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) and Don Schumacher Racing with a ceremony and reception on Friday at O’Reilly Raceway Park.
Sergeant Major of the Army (SMA) Kenneth Preston and Lieutenant General Benjamin Freakley, Commander of the U.S. Army Accessions Command, will be joined by U.S. Army Top Fuel driver and seven-time world champion, Tony Schumacher; team owner Don Schumacher, and NHRA President Tom Compton for the festivities.
“We are incredibly proud of our involvement with the NHRA and the strength of our partnership with Don Schumacher Racing,” said Lt. Gen. Freakley. “This team shares our Army values and demonstrates the mental, emotional and physical strength which are the hallmark of our Soldiers.”

BRAINERD, Minn., August 15, 2010 - Tony "The Sarge" Schumacher drove the U.S. Army Top Fuel Dragster into the quarterfinals today at the 29th annual Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals here at Brainerd International Raceway.
He started with a 3.846-second, 309.70-miles-per-hour pass to defeat Terry McMillen (3.931 seconds, 308.43 mph) in the opening round. Schumacher's 3.833-second, 310.84 mph lap was not enough to catch Cory McClenathan's 3.831-second run at 312.86 mph in round two.
