The 2012 NFL season, the 93rd regular season of the National Football League, is set to begin Wednesday, September 5, 2012, and will end with Super Bowl XLVII on Sunday, February 3, 2013, at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.

Here are some of the legitimate ways to watch NFL games beyond those available on over-the-air broadcasts and basic cable:

•With the software(the best way):
Watch online now: Satellite Direct.

•Many games are offered through the NFL Network channel. You can order this from your cable or satellite provider. This channel carries all the preseason games, weekly season games and hosts the popular show, NFL Total Access. It also includes “NFL Replay,” which offers the five best games of the week.

•For a free but legitimate viewing option, check out Hulu‘s NFL page online. You can watch past games, highlights and interviews. Just look under your favorite team’s name or in the Game of the Week section.

If Greene becomes unavailable for some reason, the 2011 fourth-round pick Bilal Powell or the sixth-round rookie Terrance Ganaway could get the nod ahead of McKnight. Powell was unimpressive as a supposed “power runner” in small doses last season, but he has played better at camp and at least has the style to operate behind the lead-blocking of fullback John Conner, who figures to be a big part of the ground game. Ganaway offers a similar style.

New York’s offensive line is hit or miss. Nick Mangold is the best center in the business. He does everything well. Left tackle D’Brickashaw Ferguson is still a little more finesse than you’d like, but that style has worked for him. He wasn’t as reliable as usual in pass protection last season, though over all, there’s no reason to worry about him. At right guard, Brandon Moore has been one of the most underrated players in the game.

So there are three excellent linemen. But the other two are genuine question marks. Left guard Matt Slauson is just a so-so puller (though he did exhibit pretty good run-blocking down the stretch last year). Right tackle Wayne Hunter is an outright liability. He’s athletic, but it just doesn’t translate. The plan was for the 2010 second-round pick Vladimir Ducasse to be starting by now, but he hasn’t even pushed Slauson or Hunter. If he does play in 2012, it will likely be at guard, as the Jets signed the stiff-legged swing tackle Stephon Heyer.

Starting at 7pm Canton (EST) Time, America will hear from the six newest members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Cornerback Jack Butler, center Dermontti Dawson, defensive end/linebacker Chris Doleman, defensive tackle Cortez Kennedy, running back Curtis Martin, and offensive tackle Willie Roaf will enter the pantheons of the very best.

It will be almost impossible to top last year, when Deion Sanders lit up the crowd and Shannon Sharpe gave one of the greatest Hall speeches of all time.

In fact, it may be considered the second best induction speech behind that of Michael Irvin. The final two minutes of his speech should be required viewing for every school child ever afraid of anything.

In 2006, it was my honor to actually attend the events live. Harry Carson gave a very politically charged speech, while John Madden added to legendary blue collar status by beginning "I don't plan on making a whole heck of a lot of sense, and I don't care."

This year the drama over who is in attendance. Bill Parcells will be introducing Curtis Martin, reminding the entire football world that it is inexplicable that Parcells is not already enshrined.
